Known Lag Problems

These problems are reported by real players. If your region or ISP is listed, a network optimizer is likely to help.

South America (all countries)

100-200ms to NA East
  • SA servers merged into NA East (US East Coast) in June 2024 — all SA players now connect to US datacenter
  • Brazilian players previously had ~15-30ms to SA server, now baseline 100-180ms to US East
  • Traffic routing confirmed through US relay IPs even for ostensibly local connections pre-merge
  • Post-merge routing depends heavily on ISP peering with Amazon AWS US East infrastructure
  • Colombian, Venezuelan, Argentine players often routed through Miami adding additional hops
Affected ISPs: ClaroVivoMovistar

Southeast Asia / Oceania

180-300ms to NA East
  • No dedicated SEA or Oceania server — SEA/Oceania players must choose NA East or EU Central
  • Australian players connecting to NA East face 180-250ms baseline latency
  • Philippine, Vietnamese, Indonesian players on NA East get 200-300ms
  • No official support for SEA region — players are technically unsupported

What players commonly report

  • High ping for South American players after SA-to-NA East server merge (June 2024)
  • EAC launch failures and conflicts with VPN/network tool virtual adapters
  • Ping spikes during Legion Raid mechanics causing wipes
  • No SEA/Oceania region support
  • Packet loss causing skill animation locks

How to Fix It

Try these first — they're free and solve the problem for most people.

01 Switch to Ethernet and disable WiFi

1. Connect your PC to router with an Ethernet cable 2. Open Windows Settings → Network & Internet → Wi-Fi 3. Turn off WiFi, or disable the WiFi adapter in Device Manager 4. Launch Lost Ark and check ping in-game (bottom-left) 5. Compare to your WiFi ping — improvement is usually 5-20ms plus reduced jitter

Eliminates wireless latency and removes the packet loss that causes skill delays during raids. Single most effective free fix for WiFi users.

02 Verify EAC files if ping fix causes launch issues

1. If a network tool causes Lost Ark to fail EAC check: 2. Open Steam, right-click Lost Ark → Properties → Local Files → Verify integrity 3. Navigate to: Lost Ark\Binaries\Win64\EasyAntiCheat\ 4. Run 'EasyAntiCheat_Setup.exe', select Lost Ark, click 'Repair Service' 5. Restart PC and relaunch Lost Ark 6. Ensure your network optimizer is added to Windows Defender exclusions

Fixes EAC initialization failures caused by network tools interfering with EAC's virtual adapter or being blocked by antivirus.

General network tips (not Lost Ark-specific)
03 Enable Network Latency display in-game

1. Press ESC to open the menu 2. Click Settings (gear icon) 3. Go to Gameplay → Controls and Display 4. Find 'Show Network Latency' dropdown 5. Change to 'Always Show' 6. Click Apply 7. Your ping now shows in the bottom-left corner during gameplay

Shows your real ping to Lost Ark servers in real time. Watch it before, during, and after entering a Legion Raid — spikes during raids confirm network congestion.

04 Close downloads and streaming before raids

1. Pause any active Steam or game client downloads 2. Close Discord Go Live or streaming software (OBS, Streamlabs) 3. Pause OneDrive, Dropbox, or Google Drive sync 4. Close YouTube, Twitch, Netflix in the background 5. Join your raid and watch ping — it should be more stable

Prevents bandwidth competition that causes sudden ping spikes exactly when raid mechanics require precise timing.

05 Flush DNS and reset Winsock if ping suddenly got worse

1. Press Win+R, type 'cmd', right-click → Run as Administrator 2. Type: ipconfig /flushdns and press Enter 3. Type: netsh winsock reset and press Enter 4. Type: netsh int ip reset and press Enter 5. Restart your computer 6. Launch Lost Ark and check ping in-game

Fixes sudden ping increases caused by stale DNS cache or corrupted Winsock entries. Takes 3 minutes and often resolves unexpected latency increases that appeared after Windows updates.

Regions with good connectivity

Players in these regions likely won't benefit much from a network optimizer.

  • US East Coast — NA East server (AWS US East) provides 10-40ms for most players in New York, Washington DC, Boston. Major ISPs (Comcast, Verizon, AT&T) have good peering with AWS.
  • Western and Central Europe — EU Central (Frankfurt) provides 10-40ms for most EU players. German, French, UK, Dutch players typically well-served.

Still lagging? The problem is likely your ISP's routing to the game servers.
