Aion FAQ — Ping, Servers, Network

Does PingAim work with Aion? Why is my ping high in Aion sieges?

MMO Free to Play NCSoft, 2008
Does PingAim work with Aion?

Yes. Western versions of Aion (NA and EU) have no anti-cheat, so PingAim's WFP driver works without any restrictions. PingAim tracks aion.bin and routes it through your chosen connection. If you have a second network connection available (5G phone tethering, a second ISP, or Ethernet alongside WiFi), PingAim can route Aion through the lower-ping option automatically.

Why is my ping high in Aion sieges?

Siege events with 50–192 players cause significant server-side load, which can increase server processing time regardless of your connection quality. If your ping number stays stable but the game still lags, the bottleneck is server-side and no network tool can fix it. If your ping spikes during sieges, that is a network-side issue — a cleaner route via PingAim or a wired connection can help.

What ports does Aion use?

Aion requires TCP ports 2106 (login server), 7777 (game server), 10241 (game services), and 80 (launcher/HTTP). All ports are TCP — no UDP ports are required. If your firewall or router blocks these ports, you will see connection errors at login or during gameplay.

Is Aion Classic still active in 2026?

Yes. Aion Classic servers in North America (NCSoft) and Europe (Gameforge) were confirmed online as of March 2026, with servers named Odin, Sillus, Stormwing, Ragnarok, and Union. The original retail Aion servers have very low populations and are essentially in maintenance mode, but Aion Classic continues to receive updates.

Can I play Aion on NA servers from Europe, or vice versa?

Yes, but expect 100–200ms latency depending on your location. Aion allows cross-region connections — there is no IP block — but the game client may feel noticeably delayed, especially in PvP. A second connection with better routing (via PingAim) can reduce this latency if your ISP's direct path to the server is suboptimal.

PingAim detects Aion automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies Aion by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
