Known Lag Problems
These problems are reported by real players. If your region or ISP is listed, a network optimizer is likely to help.
Southeast Asia (Philippines)
40-180ms to SEA server depending on ISP- PLDT and Converge route Philippine traffic through suboptimal paths to Singapore SEA servers
- Players report 100-200ms+ ping to SEA server despite geographic proximity to Singapore
- No Philippines-specific server — all Philippine players must use SEA (Singapore)
South America
100-250ms to America server- No South American server — all Latin American players must use the America server
- Players in Brazil, Argentina, and Colombia report 150-250ms to America server
- ISP routing from South America to US datacenters often routes through multiple international exchange points
Middle East
60-150ms to Europe server- No dedicated Middle East server — players must use Europe server
- Players in Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Turkey report 60-150ms to Europe server
- Some Middle Eastern ISPs route EU traffic through non-optimal international exchanges
What players commonly report
- ACE anti-cheat causing BSOD and performance degradation
- Game freezes and disconnects in solo mode despite fast internet
- Rubber-banding in co-op at 100ms+
- No way to transfer server after account creation
- Shader compilation stutters on first launch (UE4 issue)
How to Fix It
Try these first — they're free and solve the problem for most people.
01 Switch to Ethernet and disable WiFi
1. Plug an Ethernet cable from your PC directly into your router 2. Open Windows Settings > Network & Internet > WiFi 3. Toggle WiFi to Off to force all traffic through the wired connection 4. Relaunch Wuthering Waves and check the ping counter 5. Expect 2-15ms reduction and elimination of jitter spikes
Most impactful free fix for WiFi users. Eliminates wireless interference, reduces jitter, and prevents random disconnections during online-required gameplay.
General network tips (not Wuthering Waves-specific)
02 Check the in-game ping counter
1. Launch Wuthering Waves and enter the game world 2. Look at the top-right corner of the screen — ping is displayed in real-time 3. During solo play, a reading up to 150ms is unlikely to affect gameplay 4. During co-op, monitor for spikes — if ping jumps above 100ms during a boss fight, that explains rubber-banding 5. If the counter shows red or consistently high numbers, your ISP routing to the server is the problem
Confirms whether your lag is network-related. Essential diagnostic step before trying anything else.
03 Close bandwidth-consuming applications
1. Before launching Wuthering Waves, pause any Steam or Epic Games downloads 2. Close Twitch, YouTube, Spotify, or other streaming apps 3. Pause OneDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox sync 4. Check Windows Task Manager (Ctrl+Shift+Esc) > Performance > Ethernet — send/receive should be near zero 5. Launch the game and check co-op stability
Prevents packet loss caused by bandwidth competition. Particularly relevant for co-op sessions where stable connection matters.
04 Flush DNS cache and reset network stack
1. Press Win+S and search 'Command Prompt' 2. Right-click and choose 'Run as administrator' 3. Type and press Enter after each: ipconfig /flushdns 4. Then: netsh winsock reset 5. Then: netsh int ip reset 6. Restart your PC 7. Launch Wuthering Waves and check if disconnects have stopped
Fixes sudden ping spikes and connection errors from stale DNS or corrupted network config. Quick fix that resolves many 'random disconnect' reports.
05 Verify game files and check ACE service
1. If connection errors appear at launch, right-click Wuthering Waves in your launcher and choose 'Verify/Repair' 2. If ACE Center errors appear, open Services (Win+R → services.msc) and look for ACE-related services 3. Ensure the ACE service is running (right-click > Start if stopped) 4. Restart the game after verifying 5. If ACE causes a BSOD, check if antivirus is conflicting with ACE-*.sys driver
Resolves connection errors caused by ACE anti-cheat initialization failures, which can block the game from connecting to servers entirely.
Regions with good connectivity
Players in these regions likely won't benefit much from a network optimizer.
- Singapore / Malaysia — Geographically closest to SEA server. Players in Singapore and Malaysia typically get 10-30ms to SEA server.
- Japan / South Korea — Asia server inferred to be in Japan. Japanese and Korean players typically get 10-40ms.
- Western Europe — Europe server provides good coverage for UK, Germany, France, Netherlands. Typical ping 20-60ms.
Still lagging? The problem is likely your ISP's routing to the game servers.
PingAim detects Wuthering Waves automatically
No manual config. PingAim identifies Wuthering Waves by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
