THE FINALS FAQ — Ping, Servers, Network

Does PingAim work with THE FINALS? Why is my ping high in THE FINALS even with fast internet?

FPS Free to Play Embark Studios, 2023 ~1M+ monthly (cross-platform)
Does PingAim work with THE FINALS?

Yes. PingAim uses a WFP kernel driver to route Discovery.exe traffic through your optimal network path. WFP operates at the Windows network stack level and is fully compatible with THE FINALS' kernel-level Easy Anti-Cheat — it does not inject into the game process or modify any game files. DLL injection is blocked by EAC, but PingAim's WFP method is not.

Why is my ping high in THE FINALS even with fast internet?

THE FINALS runs on Google Cloud servers, and your ping depends on how your ISP routes to Google's network — not your internet speed. If your ISP has poor peering with Google Cloud, packets take extra hops through distant backbone points before reaching the game server. A 1 Gbps connection can still show 80ms+ if the routing path is inefficient. Tools like traceroute or PingAim can identify and fix this routing issue.

What is the tick rate of THE FINALS servers?

THE FINALS uses a base tick rate of approximately 30 Hz, with dynamic scaling up to 60 Hz during active combat. Embark Studios has not officially published tick rate figures. Community testing confirms the 30 Hz base — claims of 128 Hz circulating online are unsubstantiated. The Quilkin proxy middleware adds its own processing layer on top of the tick rate, which some players note contributes to inconsistent game feel.

Does THE FINALS have servers near me?

THE FINALS has servers in North America (East and West), Europe (at least two locations), Asia (Singapore and Japan), Oceania (Australia), and South America (Brazil). The game uses Google Cloud infrastructure. By default it auto-selects the nearest region, but you can manually set a Preferred Region in Settings > Gameplay > General.

Can I get banned for using a network optimizer in THE FINALS?

No bans from network optimizers have been reported. WTFast, ExitLag, LagoFast, and GearUP Booster all publicly support THE FINALS without reported bans. THE FINALS' kernel-level EAC targets memory cheats and code injection — not network routing tools. That said, the Theia anti-tamper system has falsely flagged legitimate software before, so PingAim's WFP driver approach (which doesn't touch the game process at all) is the safest method.

How do I check my ping in THE FINALS?

THE FINALS removed its in-game ping display after alpha and has not restored it as of 2025. The best method is Windows Resource Monitor: open Task Manager > Performance tab > Open Resource Monitor > Network tab > TCP Connections — find Discovery.exe entries and read the Latency column. This shows your real-time ping to the game server.

PingAim detects THE FINALS automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies THE FINALS by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
