Neverwinter FAQ — Ping, Servers, Network

Does PingAim work with Neverwinter? Why is my Neverwinter ping so high?

MMO Free to Play Cryptic Studios, 2013
Does PingAim work with Neverwinter?

Yes — Neverwinter has no anti-cheat system, making it fully compatible with PingAim. PingAim uses a kernel-level WFP driver to intercept neverwinter.exe traffic and route it through your fastest available connection. No game files are modified, and there is no risk of account action.

Why is my Neverwinter ping so high?

Neverwinter runs on a single North America-based server in California (Los Gatos / San Jose area). If you are in Europe, Asia, or Oceania, you are connecting across an ocean by default, which adds 80–200ms of base latency. Your ISP's routing to Cryptic's 208.95.184.0/22 IP range also matters — some ISPs route inefficiently even within North America. Use /netgraph 1 in-game to confirm whether your ping is consistently high or spiking.

Does Neverwinter have EU servers?

No — Neverwinter PC runs on a single global server. All PC players worldwide connect to the same server cluster in North America. There are no dedicated EU or Asian regional servers for PC. The game's launcher offers a 'Gameplay proxy' option that can help EU players route through a closer relay, but it is not a full EU server.

How do I check my ping in Neverwinter?

Type /netgraph 1 in the in-game chat. A performance overlay appears showing your current ping (latency), packet data, and FPS. This is the most reliable way to see real-time network performance in Neverwinter. Type /netgraph 0 to hide it.

Does Neverwinter have anti-cheat?

Neverwinter does not use a dedicated anti-cheat client like EasyAntiCheat, BattlEye, or Vanguard. Cryptic Studios uses server-side validation and manual enforcement. This means network tools like PingAim are fully compatible and there is no risk of triggering a false ban.

Can a VPN or network optimizer reduce Neverwinter lag?

Yes, and Neverwinter's own launcher includes a built-in proxy option specifically for this reason. For players outside North America, routing through a better ISP path — whether via a VPN, proxy, or PingAim's second-connection approach — can meaningfully reduce ping. PingAim differs from a VPN by not encrypting traffic, so it adds zero tunnel overhead.

PingAim detects Neverwinter automatically

No manual config. PingAim identifies Neverwinter by process name and routes it through your fastest connection using a kernel-level WFP driver.
