Does PingAim work with Elden Ring Nightreign?
Yes. PingAim auto-detects nightreign.exe and routes its traffic through your fastest network interface using a WFP kernel driver. It is compatible with EasyAntiCheat — PingAim operates at the Windows network stack level and never touches the game process. Since Nightreign is P2P, PingAim's benefit is primarily in optimizing your path to Steam P2P relay nodes rather than to a fixed game server.
Why is Nightreign so laggy in co-op?
Nightreign uses P2P (peer-to-peer) networking — your game traffic goes to other players, not to a dedicated server. Matchmaking only offers two zones: Japan and Rest of World. North American, European, and Asian players all queue in the same pool, causing frequent cross-continental sessions with 150-300ms ping. Disabling Cross-Region only removes Japan from your pool; it doesn't create finer regional filtering.
Why do I keep getting Chinese players even with Cross-Region disabled?
Disabling Cross-Region in Nightreign only filters out Japan-region players. There is no further subdivision within the 'Rest of World' pool — all non-Japan players (North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, China) share the same matchmaking queue. This is a design limitation of Nightreign's matchmaking infrastructure, not a connection problem on your end.
Is Nightreign's anti-cheat kernel-level?
Yes. Nightreign uses EasyAntiCheat (EAC) at kernel level, which is more invasive than the original Elden Ring's EAC configuration. Online play requires EAC to be running. It does not automatically uninstall with the game and requires manual removal. PingAim's WFP driver is fully compatible — EAC monitors game memory tampering, not network routing at the OS level.
Can I check my ping to other players in Nightreign?
Not natively — Nightreign has no built-in ping display. Use the community tool SteamP2PInfo (github.com/tremwil/SteamP2PInfo) during the character select screen to see per-player latency before committing to a run. If a co-op partner shows 200ms+, you can leave the session and re-queue.
Does PingAim help more with Nightreign or dedicated-server games?
Dedicated-server games benefit more, because PingAim can optimize your route to a fixed, predictable server endpoint. In Nightreign's P2P model, your target is another player's home connection — geographic distance to that player is the dominant factor, and PingAim can't change who you're matched with. That said, PingAim still helps if Steam P2P relay is in your session path, or if you want to ensure Nightreign uses your faster connection when you have multiple network interfaces.
